What will I be doing?
We are currently on the look-out for friendly, approachable and confident people to be part of the
Classical Weekend team, to work closely with our wonderful Venue Managers making sure the
events and performances run smoothly. Volunteers will be working across our venues and pop-up spaces, and general duties will include ushering audience members, taking tickets and acting as a point of contact for audiences– so a good knowledge of our programme will be required! You will work with other volunteers and your Venue Manager to maintain a safe environment for all attendees, assist in any post-performance flyering and encouraging audiences to complete feedback forms. You will need to be calm and level-headed as in some venues, you will be able asked to sit in during the performance near the exit in case of any audience emergencies. You don’t have to have experience, but if you have worked in an ushering or other similar role before then it will help. DBS and first aid certificates are useful, but not a requirement. We are looking for people who want to experience the festival as part of our team, have a passion for music and learn about staging events within a festival.

We ask that all volunteers are able to commit to at least two days of the festival, and attend a training session on 6th March at 6:30pm.

I want to volunteer – what next?

If you’d like to sign up to volunteer please email our Festival Manager, Bex Phillips, at before 1st March. Similarly, if you have any questions then please email or call the Music in the Round office on 0114 281 4660. Please note that we are unable to take on any under 18s.
