Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus, City Hall Ballroom, 2:00-2.45
Surrender to the breathtaking power of over 100 voices in harmony

Sheffield’s biggest choir; able to rumble your bones one minute and tease out a tear the next. Vivid scenes are drawn in song - in Franz Schubert’s Mirjam’s Siegesgesang (‘Miriam’s song of triumph’) we hear of escape from Egypt, whilst Johannes Brahms’ Ziguenerlieder (‘Gypsy songs’) tell Hungarian folk stories full of exuberant declarations of love, betrayal and romance.
